Saddle Ridge by Brad Teare

3,400.00

A vibrant western landscape expressed in a manner that allows Teare to say something about natural forms in an aesthetic style all his own: one of energy and texture so tactile the viewer is encouraged to reach out and touch it. The oil paint is applied in thick, impasto layers and the brushstrokes spontaneous and gestured seemingly as a means of studying and understanding the subject matter rather than a process of specifically defining the image. Signed "Teare" bottom right corner.

Brad Teare (b. 1956), a noted landscape painter and woodcut artist, attended the Maynard Dixon Residency in Mount Carmel, Utah and the Forbes Trinchera Residency in Southern Colorado. Teare illustrated for publishers such as The New York Times and Random House and did book covers for authors such as James Michener and Anne Tyler. His work has been featured in American Artist magazine as well as Gulf Connoisseur. Teare has exhibited in the LA Art Show, the Springville Museum, and the Forbes Galleries in New York City.

Measures: 25.75H x 25.5W x 1D inches
