A pair of polychromed bronze sculptures by Cesar Constantino Ceribelli (Italian, 1841-1918), who trained at the French Academy in Rome and regularly showed works at the prestigious Paris Salon des artists français. These two sculptures are among his most famous, one depicts Minerva, the Goddess of war, with the Medusa's head affixed to her breastplate; and the other is Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, with her helmet topped by a griffin.
