About the Artist

Jethro Gillespie is an artist that resides in Spanish Fork, UT. He works full time at Maple Mountain High school as a visual art educator. He is also a PhD Candidate in Art Education at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. His academic research is about rethinking and remaking a high school art foundations curriculum with a focus on contemporary artists' practice, as well as a theoretical interest in complexity thinking as it pertains to teaching and learning. His personal artistic practice involves repetitive action with non-traditional materials and techniques. He is also interested in including a socially engaged component with many of his projects.
