19th Century Polychrome Daum Table Lamp

4,400.00

An early 20th century two-light table lamp of baluster form from the French glass manufacturer, Daum. An iridescent enamel of creams and yellows covers the neck and shoulders of the baluster shaped body, transitioning into an earthy-orange. The form is decorated with polychrome branches of berries and leaves. An foliate finial, brass stem and acanthus leaf-carved neck plate surmount the lamp, which is mounted on a rope and foliate banded base. Signed "Daum Nancy France".
Daum artisans took inspiration from nature and used shallow cuts or acid etching, along with enamel to bring their works of art to life.
